Other requirements are; the student applying for student visa must not have any criminal record and should not pose any threat to Canadian security. The health should be good and must prove it by taking medical examination. Apart from that, students need to present that once studies are over, they will leave Canada. While applying for student visa, the applicant needs to furnish few important documents.

The first one is Proof of acceptance. This refers to a letter from the school, college or university which verifies that applicant is going to study there. This acceptance letter from the school is required to be submitted along with study permit application. The second important document is Proof of identity. This could be a passport or travel document. One also needs to provide proof of his current immigration status in Canada. Three original passport size photographs also need to be attached with the documents.

Proof of financial support also needs to be provided. One can prove his financial support by providing details of any of these;

Proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees;

Bank statements of the applicant of last 4-5 months;

In case of scholarship, the proof of funding paid from sponsors;

Proof of a Canadian bank account by the name of applicant in case of money being transferred there;

One can also provide a bank draft in convertible currency.

Students also need to provide education details along with application fees. The time of processing will vary as per the place where it has been submitted. Student visas are valid for the duration of study program.
